Kutná Hora has retained the character of a medieval city and rightly belongs to the most important UNESCO heritage sites in the Czech Republic. or 2. Karlštejn Castle – castle founded by Czech king Charles IV. or 3. Dobříš Châteaux – Rococo seat of Colloredo-Mannsfeld noble family or 4. Mladá Boleslav – headquarters of Škoda Auto automobile manufacturer and a car museum or ...

4. After-Class Activities

If you are left with free time, you can of course practise Czech. Your teachers will be pleased to answer any questions you will have. For diehards individual extra classes can be arranged in the afternoon. Besides that you can help us to prepare our Czech newpapers. Last but not least, after lunch our cosy little library will be open where you will find newspapers, brochures and guide books in English, German, French, Russian as well as in Czech, time tables, Czech textbooks and (easy) Czech books.

	Mo		Sightseeing Tour of Olomouc
	Tu		Choice of: 1) a discussion on the theme "Life in the Czech Republic" on the basis of true-life stories and published newspaper articles – articles you bring with you are welcome or 2) a dance party with not only Czech folkloric songs and dances (polka, …) when everybody will be sure to join in or 3) experience exchange concerning language learning: you can share your ways of learning Czech
	We		Free – the Rose garden offers free entrance – the Art Museum and the Archdiocesian Museum offer free entrance every first Wednesday of the moth from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and every Sunday – for interested city rally and sports tournaments

			1. Bouzov Castle – was built at the beginning of the 14thcentury and from 1699 it belonged to the Order of German Knights. After the reconstruction (1896 – 1901) it became a summer residence of the archduke Eugene of Habsburg, the master of the Order. or 2. Caves of Javoříčko – result of an erosion caused by an underground stream, in summer you will find there relief from the hot sun outside. or
			3. Kroměříž with the Archbishop´s Castle and a beautiful garden or 4. Komenský-Town Přerov with a brewery or 5. Náměšť Châteaux and Bílá Lhota Arboretum or 6. Sovinec Castle and a town of Šternberk or 7. Hranice Abbyss and Zbrašovské Caves or 8. Helfštýn Castle or ...

	Fr		Walking tour at Holy Hill with the Pilgrimage Cathedral of the Visitation of Virgin Mary and a zoo where you can easily learn Czech words for animals – later that night we can a have a farewell dinner together in a pleasant restaurant in the town centre

• further you can stroll through Olomouc or explore the neighbouring towns, e.g. Šternberk with its castle and monumental Baroque cathedral, Kroměříž with its Archbishop´s Castle, Zlín with its shoe museum or famous castle ruins of Helfštýn.
• a great number of sports activities are available – swimming, volleyball, tennis, jogging, minigolf, … . A volleyball or chess tournament can be organised as well as the city rally.

5. And ….

If you want to be prepared for genius loci a book "Nachgetragene Liebe" ("Belated Love") by Peter Härtling (1933 – 2017) cannot be but recommended. This German writer spent his childhood during World War II in Olomouc and in his book he truly depicts the atmosphere of this town. "Engste Heimat" ("Nechte být, paní Smrti") is a title of another book dedicated to the region, its writer Erica Pedretti (*1930) comes from a town near Olomouc.
